Student's lodging will be provided by the SSIR'05 organizing committee. An amount of rooms have been booked at La Abadia ( The Abbey ) Hotel (http://www.abadia.com.mx).

Lodging in a 12 nights basis: Check In on Sunday July 3 rd , Check Out on Friday July 15 th (meals not included) will cost 3000 MXP (about 200 €). A second option for accommodation including breakfast will cost 4000 MXP (about 270 €). Both options are shared-rooms. The roommate assignation will be determined by the organizing committee.

If you wish to take one of these options, please indicate so in the Registration Form. Also, in case of a particular preference for a roommate write it on the same Form or let us know by email (ayalav@salamanca.ugto.mx).

If these options do not satisfy you, you can make a reservation for yourself. A variety of hotels are also available at Guanajuato. Other hotels located close to the Faculty of Mines are the Parador San Javier (http://www.paradorsanjavier.com) and the Castillo de Santa Cecilia (E-mail: castillo@hotelesguanajuato.com). Note that SSIR'05 organizers have not made any arrangment with these hotels.

La Abadia hotel has been chosen because it offers a unique location, on ten minutes walking distance to the facilities where the instructional sessions will take place. Besides, La Abadia is a four stars hotel offering the guests a comfortable stay in a Mexican colonial style room.

La Abadia is nicely located with local bus service just outside the door to downtown (known as " El Centro "). You can also walk the couple of kilometers into the central area. It is not a problem getting taxis outside the hotel and they charge approx. 40 MXP (about 3 € or 4 USD) for a ride into downtown.

Arriving:

Access to Guanajuato is easy through BJX Del Airport's Bajio (the destination is also known as Leon ), located about 23 km (14 miles) west of Guanajuato and offering international and national connection flights.

Other close airports are the airport's Queretaro (QRO) located approximately 100 km (62 miles) southeast of Guanajuato, the airport's San Luis Potosi (SLP) located roughly 132 km (82 miles) north of Guanajuato, the airport's Aguascalientes (AGU) located around 142 km (88 miles) northwest of Guanajuato, and the airport's Morelia International (MLM) located about 143 km (89 miles) south of Guanajuato city.

The city is within easy reach from Leon City , and offers good surface connections to Mexico City , Queretaro , Irapuato , Salamanca and San Miguel de Allende.

2. If you arrive at Airport's Bajio (Airport's Leon), you can translate to Guanajuato city by taxi in only 15 minutes, the cost aproximate is $200.
